New Durham is located in Strafford County, New Hampshire.  The town contains beautiful mountains and lakes, attracting many visitors and seasonal residents.  New Durham is connected by Route 11 to the New Hampshire Seacoast, and the towns of Dover, Portsmouth and Rochester.

New Durham is home to Merrymeeting Lake, known for its pristine waters.  It is also home to many different types of farms which grow Christmas trees, apples, berries, peaches and greenhouse plants.  

The town boasts panoramic views of Mount Bett, Mount Caverley, Mount Chocora, Mount Jessie, Mount Rand, Mount Rattlesnake, Mount Washington and Prospect Mountain.  New Durham also offers many outdoor recreational opportunities.  They include camping, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, mountain bike riding and cross-country skiing.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, New Durham’s population at the time was 2,220 people.  This included 819 households and 630 families.  The average family size was 3.05 and the average household size was 2.71.  New Durham is comprised of 41.7 square miles of land and 2.5 square miles of water.
